Judgment is NOT punishment but rather is an act of God to "prove" to an evil and disobedient people, that God is Holy and Righteousness and will not be mocked.
Judgment does NOT come without warning.
As judgments fall, "one will be taken (perhaps your neighbor) one will remain." This speaks of the "victims of the judgment" swept away by destruction.
God will protect those who trust Him! Psalm 91:7 "A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you". This pattern of chaos, will escalate in scale and scope until the Church of Jesus Christ is resurrected, (lifted, removed from earth).
Like the days of Noah, the believer, safe in an ark and lifted by the flood waters from the surface of the earth as those who rejected God were swept away by the wrath of a Righteous God, we will watch from a distance, safe in the presence of our Savior until the moment Jesus Christ' stands upon the Mount that is east of Jerusalem and executes the final judgment.
